Wunderlich Seat Fairing/Rack Pad

I saw this in the Wunderlich Catalog (German). It's a rear seat cover that doubles as a rack platform to carry "stuff". They list a price of 239 Euros. Does anyone have one of these on their R1100S and is it good/bad etc? Thanks.

Yes, I have one & I like both its looks & functionality. As you can see from the pics much more of the rear pillion is covered compared to the stock cowl. The flat upper surface makes it much more practical to carry stuff stapped on the cowl. A caution: the close fit of the colw's lower edge where it meets the rear bodywork can scratch the paint.

How about using some self adhesive automotive roof rack rubber strips? These are the strips that they install on roof ridges to prevent luggage mouvement. Maybe five strips wide to acheive the same look and functionality?

If I was going to spend money on something like this, I'd rather have a (slightly taller) cowling with an openable lid and space inside. For just a tail bag, I regularly put one on my "regular" cowling, with a towel underneath - no issues.

Thanks for your note "GotRoad?". When I go on trips, I carry my stock rear Cowl on top of my Gear Bag, that is strapped to the back of the seat. After my Tent is set up, I put the Cowl back on because it looks sooooooooo goooooooood. It's vanity I know, but I can't resist the seductive good looks of the R1100S tail with the Cowl in place.

The Wunderlich piece looks like a good attempt to make a compromise between vanity and utility.

If it's the seductive good looks of the stock in place, my vanity as well btw, imo stay with what you have the other while looking good and functional, it definately isn't bringing sexy back. No offense to you GOTROAD as you have chosen functionality over vanity, I have yet to break though in this area of my bike.
