06-07 Boot Recomendation
I've been thinking about getting a new set of boots. I realize there are several posts regarding boots, but technology advances and I wanted to get an up-to-date recomendation.
Current boots (close to 10 years old) are Combat Touring. Something with a little more sport would be nice. Other criteria are: protection, all season and walking confort, looks, and water proof is a nice to have. I'm thinking of either Sidi's Vertigo Tepor or Daytona Road Star GTX. Your thoughts??? |
I've had nothing but good luck with Sidi's. In a waterproof touring boot, I'd prbably go On-Road Sympatex, but the Tepor's would be sportier (but probably less comfortable for all-day use).

I just got the Sidi Vertigo Airs for warm weather and couldn't be happier. They're as comfortable as my Daytonas and appear to be better thought out. BradZ was telling me they were a clean sheet of paper design after interviewing the MotoGP riders for what they wanted in a boot, and the technology in them is first rate. If you can't find a better price than list, I'd go to motonation.com and buy them there. The way they handled an exchange situation for a friend of mine was beyond the call.

Another vote for anything Sidi.
I have a experienced pair of the Sidi GT Sympatex's. Very similar to the On-Road's, but with a single velcro flap, instead of the individual straps. I like them so much I ordered another pair before they quit making that model. The GT Sympatex (and On-Road's, I assume) are super comfortable to ride or walk in & are waterproof. They might not have the protection that a hard street rider or track rider would want. I also have a pair of the Te-Por Sidi's. They're OK but they don't breathe well & your feet sweat like hell in the hot weather. My .02 cents |
tepor means "water". if you wear them in hot weather, your feet WILL get hot. if you wear them in the rain, your feet WILL stay dry.
sidi tepor boots aren't designed to be all season boots...they're for folks who regularly ride in the rain. |

+1 for the Oxtar Matrix. I've been in all day, pouring down rain and not a drop of water got in. Once broken in, they are also very comfortable to walk around in.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I had pretty much decided on Sidi Vertigo tempor or OxtarTCS goretex when a pair of great looking Vertebra tepor's came up on eBay. I just won them! I can't wait to try them out next week:D
