n00b intro & 1st question...

Hi all, a n00b to this forum, but not to bikes & other forums :)

I've found myself lusting for a R1200S, so I found this forum. Plan to order a 1200S soon, with a goofy combo of options, so it will be a while before I see it.

My first very important question (yea, I'm too lazy to search, deal with it) is...

What the heck is a 'BCR'?

pborgia 11-26-2006 11:36 AM

BCR is Boxer Cup Replika. The Boxer Cup was a race of r1100s all set up the same, so the rider's skill was the only thing giving him an edge over other racers.

TY gigantic, seems like a nice joint, this forum. A lot easier on the n00bs then AdvRider.com ;)

don't speak too soon on that last point... one thing to remember: the archives and the amount of information within them are vast, the search function works well and makes an excellent "flame retardant"...
Does downtown CR still smell like Cpt. Crunch on a good day? (corn sweetener processing on bad...)
cheers,
Lance

Lance
Clinton Iowa had the smell, at least in the mid-70's.
Was unaware you were IC native. My eldest sister has been there mostly since '65 as a freshman. Unsure why I chose ISU instead.

Jim,
a freshman since '65? gee, i thought that I took a long time to graduate (5 years, spread from 87-97... I also grew up in Davenport- had that smell down by the Ralston/Purina plant. Iowa City has always been home, though.

I guess so? Kinda' like living next to a sewage plant, you get use to it after awhile & don't notice it :D

Understand, I was just testing the waters with the natives. Search will be my friend from here on out. BTW, anyone here have a Akrapovic on their R12S? LOL
