Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesman Paul Coley said these were "considered dangerous goods but for us they're low-risk."

Others housed a variety of goods including BMW motorbikes and car parts.

Man PB that would suck out loud! But I have to believe that such a loss would not impact scheduled production for February. They would already have materials in place for such. Anything lost should be made up as new production.

Angry Indeed!

Indeed FB it would suck the big one! This whole process is instilling patience where not much existed before...anticipation is building and producing a lot of stomach acid..

Someone will be finding a backstreet dealer who can PDI this one:

"One group at Branscombe Beach, near Seaton, used a tractor to carry off a new BMW motorbike, still partially-wrapped in cardboard."

"However, salvors were warned by the Receiver of Wreck, Sophia Exelby, who settles ownership issues relating to wrecks in UK waters, ....etc....."
Doesn't the phrase "Receiver of Wreck, Sophia Exelby" have a deliciously English ring to it? Love those Brits.

Branscombe Police's Pc Steve Speariett said "a couple of hundred people" were on the beach on Sunday night with the same number again scavenging on Monday.

"Around 50 BMW motorbikes were carried off the beach last night," he added

...in the 3 minutes video, you can see someone 'walking' away with his 'new' 1200RT...

so when someone takes one of these saltwater soaked bikes in for service and the VIN comes up flagged, do they go to jail?

According to the video, only if the real owner wants it back. That's why some were filling out forms supplied by the police.

What's strange is how orderly it all seemed. Can you imagine the same in the US? There would be bodies in the sand.

Having worked around some of these containers before, I can tell you that they are surprisingly airtight, which is usually why even heavily laden ones float. Those that 'burst a seal' will fill with water and lie just below the surface, posing a danger to shipping, but most get recovered pretty quickly.

Right, better catch a flight back to my folks in the UK and bag me a new beemer before they all get taken!

Apparantly they were on their way to South-Africa. There was even a G650XChallenge on board! MCN is probably doing everything to get that one
