R12S mods
These things must have come up before but a newbie here so beare with me. I made 3 mods to make my city riding/living a little safer:
1 Don’t hit me light: this improves visibility from on coming traffic, left turners mainly and gives additional cue to traffic from tight. it is tucked under the left jug and very close to hot pipe. so far the light has not melted but time will tell. I should lengthen the bracket . The bracket bolts straight onto the conveniently provided 10mm threading. 2 Second horn: obviously changes the beep beep OEM to HONK HONK and sounds a little more authoritative to me. 3 Real power outlet which can run my electric jacket. I cut off the OEM power outlet and ran it to a relay mounted on battery strap. power to outlet, switched Aux light, and horn power go off of this. OEM horn power is line tapped and runs an additional horn relay at the new horn on the left frame. I had to drill a hole on the frame, right in the middle of ribbing and away from any nearby holes though structural stress on this frame seems minimal. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice looking mods.
I have lights that I may still move, it is tough to find the right spot. I used an RT horn which was much louder then stock, what noise maker did you use? I don't know about drilling the frame, though it seems like you picked a practical spot.

I'd like to find a good used RT horn if they are loud. I'm affraid what a new one would cost.

Aftermarket for horns exists. I've never been saved by a horn, but some feel comfort in it. Hunting down a used RT horn might be useless. I'd just look up what the aftermarket has. Unless your neighbor crashed his RT, it's just cheaper and faster in the end, IMO.

For the louder horn crowd I guess you guys want this:
http://www.nippynormans.com/prodinfo.asp?number=STB-ZZZ&variation=&aitem=42&mitem=68 Many GS owners over here use them and say it's very loud and fits perfectly in the oem spot.
