BCR identification
How does one go about getting the certification for a Boxer Cup Replika, if the original owner was a douche and kept all the documents and other stuff that came with the bike? Why would you keep the documentation for a bike you no longer own anyway? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

what are you looking for? some kind of #xxx out of a series? I don't think they did that after the first year. you can find some production numbers here if you search a bit, and are interested in how rare your bike is.

Welcome, beautiful bike!
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the documents. The value of the bike is not affected by their absence. Like shredder say's most anything you want to know is just a few mouse clicks away. |

Nope no plate or special stamping. I have the same bike. They published making either 500 or 1500 cant remember. My 07 999S USA bike was limited to 500 and it too has no plate or special numbered stamping. There are only so many so if you are thinking resale, demand will dictate value not the plate. Maybe if it was like 0001 or something that could be a plus. Congrads on picking the unquestioned best looking R1100S ever built.

Thanks for the compliments on the bike, resale is not an issue as I have lusted for one of these since the blue and white 03's came out. Barring something catastrophic it has a permanent home. I am just curious as to what number out of how many this bike is since they were a limited edition. This bike would never be worth as much to someone else as it is to me anyway. This is what I bought myself as a reward for giving up smoking, and it is actually costing me less to own than to smoke. The picture was taken right after I brought it home from the dealer, and the bars are where they belong now and the chicken strips are gone from the rear tire

What a stunning bike, I love the colors, congratulations!! Is it the same machine as the Mamola Replicas with a different paint job, or is it a different bike?

From what I understand it is the same basic machine with a taller suspension and laser exhaust. The taller suspension and physical size of the bike are what sold me as I'm 6-3 and my ZX6R kills me on the street. I bought this to ride on the street and will flog the kawi on the racetrack.

From what I've been told, the Randy Mamola BCR's are the only ones that were numbered and had certificates etc with them. Many previous owners like to keep that stuff or are just to lazy to give it to the new owner. When I bought mine, the dealers rep said "no problem" I'm still waiting, not really. I guess I was lucky to get a key for it. Owners manual? NO. complete toolkit? NO. Brush off? Yes.

'03 & '04 have the plate on the triple clamp, designating which # of 300 the bike is. Guess I was lucky, got all manuals, tools in tool kit, but didn't get original lenses, spare key or exhaust.
For some info on your bike, call BMW Motorrad in NJ, give them your VIN, and they can tell you when it was originally bought, from what dealer, and might be able to give you some more info on production numbers for '05 BCRs. I've heard the same, from 500 - 1,500 '05 BCRs made. I do like the R/W/B paintjob on the '05, just don't like the two different wheel colors ![]()

Wow!!! Windy and Dave, you guys just made me appreciate a good dealership even more than I already did. The salesman I dealt with not only gave me an owners manual but also a factory service manual to boot. I had some issues with the injection on my bike and they also took care of that. Overall I was treated very well especially considering I bought this bike used. I may have already said this elsewhere on this forum but it obviously bears repeating, Bob Honz and Gateway BMW St.Louis
KICK ASS!!!!! Dave thanks for the heads up I'll give your suggestion a try.

I was very lucky to get the cert, plate, and the boxercup races on dvd as a complete package. I was even lucky enough to get the BMW Motrorad life size store display.
