RogBro, SV650S-Z update

Fuel Cel installed.
Penske Ultra Ti installed and set up, run once.
Quickly approaching a major completion milestone.
A few very minor items left.
Right after i took these pics for the Fuel Cel web site i added the Tech Spec tank grip rubbers.
The carbon bars may or may not work out on the throttle side it seems to rub a bit.
So the big news is, Fuel Cel, synth tank, complete success.
This is the proto type unit for the post 03+ bikes, yup i helped develop the molds, this is the first one out and it is perfection.
Paints up real nice too.

Yes, I'd love one of those tanks. Very nice piece. Glad to see they have them for 2nd gen now. Sweet.

Mr. D;
More than it is worth except for what i learned building it and the enjoyment of knowing every nut, bolt, etc. Buy an Aprilia 1000 for the same amount or a Duc 749.
These things are fun, very repairable, but when you go over the top like i did, its still just a SV650.
I have another in process for the street, so a fools folly no doubt, but for me, worth it at this stage.
Add up the large components, that will get you in the ball part.
Nothing is stock, start with an Attack Perf triple tree set for a gxsr1000 for 724$. That should give you an idea of how this adds up pretty quickly.
11K will get you close but not there.
Little items like a slipper clutch add up quickly.
Ti con rods are sounding irresistible next year.
Start with a new bike, sell off the parts that get replaced as new, never on street, your new builder bike nets out at 4k, well worth it. We get new sv650S's out here for 200$ over cost that puts it OTD for about 6200. High demand for all the sell off junk, gives you a good starting point price wise and a good basic bike to build on. You do need some space, tools, basic knowledge of what you are doing.
Big plus, very easy machines to modify and work on.
A gsxr 750 new is a better bet for most, i like twins, and i like building bikes that rail just as much.
Otherwise i gotta tell ya for track days, a new GSXR 750 walks away from a sv650, skills being equal.

even an old GSXR-750 walks away from an SV650, but I've found the SV to be much more fun to ride.
