I'd be looking at the Cobra. Is it a real aluminum body Cobra?

That's actually a Vortech supercharger on the Cobra right, just mounted with the pulley facing backwards?

Given the amount of compression I see in the shots, I'd say lotsa zoom.

Yeah...but with a point and shoot? These goats have great eyes and are very shy so I'm surprised ck could get within 300 yards of one. But then he's pretty sneaky.

EXIF shows a D7000 zoomed all the way to 200mm (35mm equivalent).

Come on Steve, this is an invite for a Photoshop project, if I have ever seen one.

No, it was a P7000, not a D7000...

They were about 25 feet away because I climbed up the side of a cliff which had no other way down for the two. That's the closest I've ever go to one. So I went further up, and they walked slowly by me on my left to escape. Then they ran full speed straight down the cliff. The stranger thing was the location, where I completely did not expect any animals.

Very funny!
No, it says P7000 zoomed to 42.6mm, like a 50mm ... Not sure how the P&S comparison works.

Not sure what you call those things, but I have watched wild goats in mountainous rocky country here and they are amazing with their speed and agility. I have also seen them fighting and don't think I would like to be that close to a protective mother. Nice pictures.

Some of them will just about eat out of your hand. There is a stretch of road on hyw200 out of Bonner Montana where a herd comes down to eat salt out of the cracks in the road. They just stand and stare at ya just like in CKCarr"s pic.

Great Shots as always!!

Yes, I meant P7000. 42.6mm is the 200mm equivalent. Sorry.

I had the same feeling about the deer I hit in the first two weeks of S ownership 11+ years ago.

Not in the Canyonlands.

The Desert Bighorn is a different animal from the much more common Rocky Mountain Bighorn.

A sighting is rare and few and far between.

http://www.nps.gov/cany/naturescience/bighornsheep.htm

The population is only a few hundred throughout the region. They have had health issues.

So I was sorry I had not carried a normal camera. Especially with the little one.
