Hopefully someone here can help me find out what production number my bike is. I bought an 04 BCR as a salvage and have not been able to locate the previous owner to find out what number in the series of 300 my bike is or if he or she still has the dealer packet that came with the bike. Does anyone know of an easy way to do a title search? BMW was able to tell me where and when the bike was first sold but nothing else.

if it is a CA bike you may be able to do a DMV search costs 5 bucks if i remember right

I never looked, but always suspected the VIN would have an obvious correlation. Like the last three digits would be the production number. But I've never noticed if the VINs have anything different like an X or R in the code signifying a Replica model.
