Muzza -
We had a Zard Stainless Muffler on our R1200S racebike for a couple of days testing in December. It sounds good, a nice deep tone, and no backfiring. I did not notice a "seat of the pants" performance difference. We did not receive a header to try. The build quality is good, it should last a long time. The Zard is heavy. The weight is only a pound less than the stock pipe. If you are not racing this is not a big concern. I have yet to find a decent "race" exhaust for the R1200S. We have made and used our own muffler, but it is far from a production unit. We have been using the stock header with the catalyst removed. We may have a revised twin-can production unit for sale in the next few months, if we can find the time to make it, dyno it, tool up to produce it, and sell enough to break even.

Greetings Ivan and Muzza,
As most of the R1200S systems are JUST being released from the manufacturers, the jury is still out. We and our Rapid Bike tuners/associates in Europe have tested some currently available R1200S systems and the HP and Torque are not up to the potential of this R1200S. In this case I agree with you on the ZARD system IVAN. Systems being released this month by four reputable manufacturers should give us more information of what this bike is capable of with their systems and also with a RapidBike unit. We have seen as much as 127 RWHP on early prototypes. Save your time Ivan you do not want to invest money and time just to break even... Remember the first prototype to the final shipping unit takes about $75,000US to Develop, Test both on the Dyno, Racetrack and 30 to 50 hours on a Multi Axis Shaking Table (To test for durability). A lot of man and machine hours believe me! Although one of my companies is being a LASER distributor, as an academic I want to know what works and what does not. I will keep you informed.
