Startling Realization This Morning

I was replying to the belly-pan post and went to the image hosting site that I use for the first time in about two years.

I think it's interesting that at one point I owned an RC51, a ZX-12, and an FXD to keep myself happy.

Now, and for the past few years, I just own and ride this:



So, I wonder, am I just slowing down, or is this one bike really that good.

I don't want for any other cruiser or sport bike. My R1100S is about perfect for me. I would love a dual sport though.

For months I've been trying to figure out what else to get in my garage but I just can't decide. I guess I could get an R12s but then my R11s would just sit there.

I've been having a dilemia recently over the potential of having a second bike again, but my thoughts involve an R1200R.

I've tried to convince myself that I could pick up an R in addition to the S and keep both at first. If my riding seems to shift totally to the R, then I could sell the S. I have trouble ever even thinking of losing the S though. Shortly after buying my R1100S, I pretty much decided it was going to be a "till death do us part" type of thing.

my next additional streetbike is gonna be a rat panhead with a waterpipe rigid frame, an 18" over springer with a spool hub and straight blooey-pipes angled up to end at the top of the sissy bar, painted in rattlecan flat black with a jockey shift and homemade supercharger hanging out of the left side by 2'.

acid, that 911 is my **ssy wagon. It gets more attention than any 10 other things combined.

I think it's just really that good. While I may sell it at some point in time, right now, at 42,000 miles, I can't imagine doing that. If anything, it's the R12S that's getting the critical evaluation..... learning to earn it's keep. And that said with the tacit admission that the R12S does EVERYTHING better than the R11S except carry stuff. I've added about 10mph to my normal route corners without trying...it's just that good; and when the glory cam comes to visit it's like a 4-valve Ducati. The Ducati has to stay cos it's too nice a bike for too little money not to have, and it stirs the hooligan in me which I evidently need periodically. Plus....we all need at least one Duck....some of you just don't know it. My 2cents.

If you have the space get a bunch, I can't afford six women but am OK with a half dozen bikes.
