Where does it all go!! help

would anyone have pictures of an R1100S 99-00-01 with all body panels off and tank off? I am trying to find information/pictures of the proper routing of the wire harness and tubes and stuff. I purchased this bike as a Salvage wreck. Any help or information would be appreciated. I have most all the wiring for the front of the bike in place and it seems proper, but from the abs/battery area under the tank it looks like everything has just been put where ever.

What you need is an advanced facsimile of the R1100S manual.

All of the wiring/routing is very well laid out in that document.

Can anyone provide a link?

go to the A&S BMW site, you can download a PDF file of the total service manual for free.

Andrew, I had that filed away myself but didn't realize it. Thanks

My thank you everyone, as usual the out pouring of help is much appreciated. Got the nunley downloaded and printed all the pictures of the harness routes. Thanks again.

One other question. The manual says to use clamps when removing the fuel tubes, but mine have these large quick disconnects. are these add ons? they seem to foul up the throttle cable.

You are correct.

I thought you were talking about money.

Nevermind...

Thank you Jeff W.

Those photos are perfect. Whom ever installed my disconnects left way to much fuel line; so when the tank is located it pushes the fuel lines out of the holder. Thank again everyone!!!

:)

wow, reversing the fuel lines so they don't get mixed up ... sometimes the simplest things make the most sense ... guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow :)

tsettel 06-25-2007 08:53 PM

Jeff, what kind of disconnects are those in your pic?

Sideshow_S 06-25-2007 09:04 PM

A wise mod. Haven't done it to the S, but have it on my Hawk, and I love them. Forgot that it makes the tank removal so much easier. Good reminder.

So how come the manual shows the routing so well, but doesn't include a wiring diagram?

Deep secrets in the wiring harness... only for the "in crowd"... you know, the ones charging you top coin for their work... ;)

Actually, I have those quick connects on the BCR tank... that is going in next... still many projects on the list... still very little time!
