Yep, Teflon seems to be used quite allot, especially by HEL, who have quite allot to say about brakelines, Kevlar and ally fittings ...

My one and only experience so far with SS Lines (from Bob's BMW) was on my '94 BMW R100GS/PD - Stock Single Disc replaced with EBC Pro-Lite OEM Replacement Brake Rotor and EBC Brake Pads...I was very pleased with the way better feel/performance after the initial 200 mile break-in period!
I bled the Brakes and Clutch on my R1100S in 2005...it didn't seem to make much difference. I plan to replace the rubber lines with SS next spring. It just makes good sense to replace the old lines and why not with SS anyway?
