Holy crikey.... that bike looks like it has been in an accident...
Something like that make you wonder HOW, but very happy THAT he survived... there is really NOT a lot of bike left...

man, what a bunch of whiners!
a couple of decals, some spray paint...maybe a little sanding, a vise to straighten that damper rod and she'll be as good as new by morning. ...okay maybe afternoon...even late afternoon...but still. ...come on...the friggin' thing didn't even catch on fire, there's no skin hanging off it and she ain't splooged with blood....overall, she ain't so bad... i say we e-bay it. claim it tipped over in an exceptionally steep driveway while being lovingly washed and waxed. yea....that's it.

No question....that'll buff out.
Sorry I'm not gonna get to meet you Wheelie Man. I was looking forward to that. I hope you heal up fast and get yourself rolling again soon. I would still enjoy a straight from the horse's mouth blow by blow account of what went wrong. I learn from the pain of others. kjazz

Sounds like what Ivan rode for years. ![]() ...come on...the friggin' thing didn't even catch on fire, there's no skin hanging off it and she ain't splooged with blood....overall, she ain't so bad... It almost caught fire, the bakersfield guy who stopped to help tried to drag the bike across the pavement that was floating in gas. I heard the scraping and yelled at him, what a dweeb. jeff

Everyone see things differently...
Me, I would get a new tank and front end off ebay, drill out the tripleclamp to add MX bar risers and have a hooligan bike from hell. Hell the rear wheel is still holding air (and it has tread).

Cowboy up. Brad's bike looks worse than that half the time when he returns from a hard ride.

Learning as much as I can all the time.
Some personal thoughts.... I have had 2 cars and about to get my 14th Bike. On the motorcycle I am my reality. Not a passenger It is my history and my future. I recommend it to no one. I feel it and see it in the eyes of my brothers and sisters in the motorcycle community when they talk about riding. And I LOVE it. My name is Ivan and I ride motorcycles.

'I recommend it to no one.' Ditto. All very well said Ivan, but especially that one...I encourage no one. It's a passion one has to have.
Doc, I'll let you know in a couple of days. I do know I will not hook up with the group on the way down though. Mr. Brooks, check your e-mail for new and exciting offers! Or just give me a call (leave a message & I'll call you back if I miss it). Is it Friday yet??? *#&@ !

Tony,Cindy, Ivan, Shelly, Bingo,(and others who don't have internet).
Having talked with Brad we figure it will take 5 1/2 hours to ride to his place from Shell Beach. That said, be at the coffee shop at 7:45, we need to be on the road from the Steamin' Bean by 8:15am to hook up with everyone on the route and give each of them a 15 min buffer to connect with the group. I'll call each connection ahead of time to let them know when we leave from the last connection. Please confirm that you got this either here of pm me or call me. Tony and Cindy, I figure we'll be in SB at 10:15, where do you want to meet. How about that bagle place on Milpas and the freeway. Bingo, call me. Ivan, where and when. Does you cell# still work? Jeff

Jeff,
Cell is functioning and charged.. It was on vacation, lost in my car this weekend, dead battery. KJazz and I are going to pick up the bikes at LAX and will be racking up the miles on Thursday. The plan is that we end up close to San Diego county that night. Then Friday we will just do a short stint to Oceanside. So we will see you at the Inn in Oceanside at 2-2:30pm. Have a great ride down!!
