OK, Tuna and I are meeting in Atascadero and riding down to meet with ya'all in Shell Beach. We might actually be ON TIME...I told him to meet me 15 minutes earlier than he really needs to be there . Talked to bingo...he's taking I5 alllllll the way down to Brad's on Friday.

Brad.....could you email or PM me your address for my GPS? I need to go there when the others head to the hotel.

We GOTTA have Alan to kick out any ne'er-do-wells that may show up in Sandy Eggo!

Hopefully it'll be in a garage! Or minimally under an old sheet! It seems it was just the dampness. Never had the problem before or since. hehe, did have to change sprockets...mine had 8 missing teeth. (no wonder the chain was loose!)

Weather forecast is looking good. High 70's in the coastal haze and mid 80's in the sun-drenched hinterlands.

Its been in the low 90's here, so I'm looking forward to some cool humidity.

I've never seen; wife, quality-time, and Long Beach used in the same sentence before. You get extra points for that!

Re Mad Otter -
I talked with Alan this afternoon and he is a NO JOY for San Diego.
He has graciously left the honor of the key toss to anyone that is willing to take his place!

He did say that he will definitely be with us to ride fast in SLO, at the end of June.

weather update: most of the ride will be in the mid-seventies, 'cept for the run down to the desert, at 100+ degrees, but we're only in the oven for about an hour. the rest of it is dang comfortable.

look for marine layer in the morning on the way out, burning off by about 10:30 am....if not sooner.

dress accordingly. as always, there will be a support van available at the "nutrition break" at 10:30 and the lunch break at 12:30, so if you want to toss things in there and change during the day....feel free.

sorry alan can't make it....we'll return the veggie burgers to costco.

for those of you who are only showing up on saturday:

7:00 am. Dennys at the corner of hwy 76 and college blvd in oceanside.

show up with a full tank of fuel. (there's a chevron station right near the wal-mart, which is right near the dennys).
we hit the road at 8:00 am.

i pre-rode the course this last weekend....tried to count the amount of corners...lost track somewhere around 1,470....which was about a third of the way through.

my average speed before the lunch break: 34 mph...and that's wicking it through roads i already know.....riding the supermoto toy....so i'm assuming that as a group, we'll go a tad slower.

even still, you can count on wearing off the chunky sides of your tires...'cause you won't be spending very much time upright.

Its my experience that if antibiotics won't cure it, riding generally will.

Sorry you can't make it this time.
