Hi all,
didn't want to bring this up so I'll make this quick.
Was a mile or so behind him.
Out on HWY 58 in the roller coaster straight away, dust devils,(gusty high winds), his bike caught a littl air,(or the engine blew), went sideways in the air, he bailed, slid 500 ft., leathers and protection saved his life.
His leather jacket looked like a big cat clawed it to bits.
His helmet,(black),had the paint scraped off. He had bruses on his head from the pads.
Injuries: Concussion , dislocated ankle, broken wrist,(left), pinky pinned Permanently in place,(Left).
Will his ride again, Flocken A

Update on Wheelie boy, .. and no, there was no wheelie involved.

He was released from the hospital today, after surgery on his hand yesterday.

I saw him this morning and he is bruised and sore but recovering well. A dislocated left ankle and his hand are the worst of it.

He is definitly happy to be getting out of the hospital.

He is lucky.....this kind of accident shows the reason why we wear what we wear....some people ask why and say that we wear ti just to play the part but to be honest it saves lives

Ivan, Jeff- Please give him my best. I worried about him, but mostly from the wheelies. His abilities allow him to move at such a fast pace, a mistake has a bigger outcome for him than most of us. Hopefully everything heals and I'm just glad he had a straight road in front of him so he had room to slide.

I will definitely pass on your thought's and best wishes to him.

We (A bunch of ZRATED Riders) all talked at the hospital about the gear saving him. And he said if "I had stayed on "THE PACE"" ..... he would have ridden home on his bike and not a helicopter.

I know I ride outside the bounds of the Pace way too much myself...

My bet is He will be ready, for the Triple Crown Yosemite and maybe for the Central Coast ride.

Jeff's story details are best described using hand gestures etc... and will be told in San Diego.
The bike is very badly damaged and took exponentially more abuse than Jeff did. It is totaled.

I just talked to him. He is now back at home, in bed and still sore as hell. I have told him about all your messages and forwarded him your best wishes.

I will update you as I learn more.

2 weeks from right now we will be heading south for the camp pendleton tour and Brads ride!! YAAAAAAY!! JEFF BROOKS-surely you can recuperate in 2 more weeks to cage it down and drive the support van, eh??? sorry to hear of you misfortune, but it would still be great to hang out with ya as it wouldn't be the same without you.
