I LOVE THE BELLY PAN and the cans look great!
Must sound wicked! I am really starting to get hooked on this bike and the looks of it. How much does this exhaust go for? I could only imagine what the belly pan would go for, maybe if I am lucky a left nut and one arm. I think the bike would look faster with a black frame versus the silver. I heard the silver paint has more "drag resistance". X

that is exactly how i would set up an R12! now I am getting an R12 Jones on, there are 2 on eBay for $11,995 located in florida, of course you will have to add, Ohlins, heated grips, the belly pan and that hot exhaust, which would probably bring the total to $18K, fortunately for me, my R11 is not the limiting factor in my funtime, it is the lack of sufficient funtime!

The carbon is just a cover, here is the exhaust without the cover, and the head pipes are works of art!

Nice looking exaust, it also looks like it works pretty well if I am reading the graph correctly. I really like the looks of the 12S, they have grown on me. I still like the looks of 11S, but the two bikes are apples to oranges; Sport Tourer Vs. Sport Bike/Super Sports tourer.
I wouldn't pay extra for the carbon covers, as it seems to add no more to the bike than adding crome to a Harley D.

Greetings,
No that is a BMW dealer's from the Netherlands. I too have a black one. If it is BMW it has to be black.... At the age of 13 I got my first BMW. Single cyl and BLACK. Still have it '65 R27.

...I thought the first BMW's only came in red & silver... :-)
…regarding this new HPE exhaust, I got this information from Nigel Wood, the UK importer for Ilmberger carbon parts, and HPE exhausts ( http://sandbarcomposites.co.uk/index.php )
Hi Ron, The exhaust is in either Inox or Titanium. The carbon cover comes with it, but does not need to be used. The price for the Inox will be about the same as the other version which will remain in production. The titanium one will be much more expensive. The front pipes will also be available in Titanium! Most of the posts on the forums seem to have missed the point. Whilst each part gives a noticeable improvement, the whole system has been developed to work together. The improvement with the complete system is greater than the sum of the improvements given by each half on its own. Check out the attached dyno chart. Improvement in the mid range is what most people want. That shows about 15 hp at 5000 rpm!! That is with the cat!! The development bike apparently wheelies off the throttle in 2nd and 3rd. Regards Nigel …well, I think this looks like a ‘nice’ improvement… ![]()

OK - Here's the gig for me - I was cranking over my favorite N GA mountain road (53-blood mountain) on Sat. when I was almost wrecked by a 40lb wild turkey. I pulled over to side of road to compose myself, and all of a sudden I heard the most amazing sound ever on a motorcycle. It was a new DUC 1098 not sure if aftermarket exhaust or not. It was sick. I really miss the sound of my GUZZI with Ti exhaust, and it is time to get an aftermarket for the 12S.
Any comments from anyone with one of these or an Akropovic on how much the improve the sound? A deep, strong, rumble / growl is what I am looking for. I love the looks of these, and the Akropovics, but not sure where I get them or how to order? Any info on that?

Greetings,
This looked good and had me going. I like finding HP! I have dyno'ed quite a few R1200 series bikes with stock exhausts and with other manufacturers systems. Really, the cat IS a big stumbling block for HP. There are other reasons too but let's stay with this. HPE, per their website rates the HP( PS protocol) as "clutch" HP. I have never heard of clutch HP. We just had a thread on RWHP and drivetrain losses. I wonder if it is just an oversight on HPE's wordage. "Achievement data are HP at the clutch. Curve blue BMW R 1200 S with original exhaust system curve red HPE final muffler and original elbow union" "Achievement data are HP at the clutch. Curve blue BMW R 1200 S with original exhaust system curve red HPE final muffler and HPE road elbow union with Kat" If it is not an oversight and it is RWHP, this is hot! ![]() ~123 RWHP with a cat. WOW and the styling is "Out of the Box"!

Sorry Robert..........it does not make 123 HP at the rear wheel with the exhaust system in question. In your heart or hearts........you know that. Anything near 115 to 118 at the rear wheel...........using a exhaust system only, no chip or other mod, is about it........and would be(115 to 118) considered very good and worth the money. 123 simply is not going to happen. Thoughts...??
