Gentlemen,
Here is the original thread regarding the cowl planning and movement. If you read through it you will see that there was always a danger of it getting deadheaded in Utah and there was never a firm plan in place to get it up to the Northwest. However keeptheshineypartup has consistently volunteered to take it up. Can he still do it two years later though as now a lot of commitments have changed. Shannon Cowl Route Planning The logical route as I had suggested was for me to get it to Tirebiter and Vetteracer who can then hand off to keeptheshineypartup. Or, keeptheshineypartup can pick up directly from me but that seems a little unfair to the Vegas guys. So... ______________________________________________ Hey, Keeptheshineypartup. After re-reading the original planning thread from 2005 it looks like you volunteered to ride to Washington. Is that still doable? The problem is that the two guys in Vegas were counting on carrying the cowl a ways. Perhaps from Western Utah to Las Vegas and then you could carry it up. I know you say here you can't get away until June, which would be fine. I get to Tirebiter and Vetteracer and you pick up from them.

![]() Shannon was always fond of that UPS girl... why not let her take the cowl to JonyRR....

Craig, thanks for getting this thread started. I had to head out to CA for a geek conference on a 6:40AM flight Monday, and somehow at the "parental responsibility" event (volleyball party for the club team) there were parental beverages....so...
But wait - more excuses! So I get home tonight, and my wife has the camera to take pics at my older daughter's end-of-year dance, so.... my pics are still in the camera. Had an exciting ride into GJ; great scenery over a few passes, but temp went from the 80's near Hotchkiss to mid-30's on Grand Mesa, accompanied by large marble-sized hail that feels like an all-body Gatling gun massage at 70mph. Had to pull over for 20 minutes to let it pass, but then dropped off the Mesa down into the canyon and really enjoyed high-speed twisties until I-70 and the Junction. Where it felt like 90. A little over 300 mi. total to GJ, though a dozen climatic zones or so. It was great meeting Craig; had a lot to talk about and we agreed to get together sometime later to hit some favorite roads. As a rule I don't drink while riding but this seemed to be a good case for an exception. Dayum, his bike looks good, too! I have a couple of pics to add, hopefully tomorrow. Don't count on them coming even remotely close to Craig's, though! Mike Last edited by Mike Gehl; 05-24-2007 at 09:40 PM.. |

NunBetter - MoDog, Kristian, Gehl, CKarr ...anyway ... Yes I am still up for the 3000mi+ ride. No big deal, I just can't get out'a here 'til June. In fact, I can pick it up from Carr, bring it BACK to Wyoming and ride wing-man with MoDog, ride the Divide into Canada, loop Idaho, ride the Eastern Plains of Washington, meet Jony anywhere, ride wing-man with whom-ever across the Columbia into Oregon, and bring it anywhere in California ... I just can't get out'a here 'til June.

There are the two I had mentioned above in Las Vegas, also Steve Carlton now lives in Incline Village NV, so that's three for that state. As far as Modog, that would be entirely up to him how far he would go since he lives in Northeast Wyoming. What city are you located in KTSSU?

Yeah...I could easily meet you in Vernal or the Utah/Wyoming border just north of there...it just depends on how far you want to ride.
