This RV pulls over for other BMWs

Next to a truck it's not so big...

They say to make a bike real fast it needs to be very small across the front end...

This bike will do at least 40 MPH.

Started out the day by getting gas in Roseville. Went out 49 thru Downieville, Greyeagle and into Quincy. Didn't fill up in Quincy cause....

I still had 202 miles left to go before I ran out of gas!!! I reversed routed it back to Auburn. STILL had gas left so I made a quick run up 49 and, of course, 193 thru Chili Bar. Then I reversed routed that. Reserve light finally came on in Georgetown on my way back. I filled up in Auburn and it took 8.59 gallons. Cost me 30.40 to top it off. Guess I was cutting it close cause the tank only holds 8.7 gallons!

Over 350 miles on one tank of gas and I didn't exactly take it easy. Just bought it yesterday and I've already scheduled it's first service on Friday. This bike was meant to ride!!!

Looks like I'll be hanging up the clip-ons for a while... back to handlebars. Nice comfortable bike. Was I sore anywhere when I got back? Yes. You know that spot behind your ear that gets sore when you wear glasses under a helmet? Only sore spot. More fun than the law should allow.

OK; here's a walk down memory lane and a segue into...travel...just because. (because I had 4 shots of patron' tequila in a row just now...hehehe)

In 1991 I was service manager (and chief cook-bottlewasher-etc) at the world's farthest north Kawasaki dealership, Alaska Fun Center (here to this day, Hi Gabrielle and Bill *grin*.
Got a KLR650 in for chain and sprockets.
67,000K on the clock (Norwiegen plates).
he started in Norway, went down thru Europe, followed the Paris-Dakar route (he might just have, who am I to call him a liar..he was WAY bigger than me) took the boat out of Capetown, did the outer rim of 'Strailia...and came up to Fairbanks from tierra Del Fuego..all the way thru South America...****...talk about "Iron Man'...that guy was it.
Very cool dude.
sell the house. Load up the GS. Hit the road, jack..don' come back no more, no more...

And the MPG will only get better with time. When my R1200GS was new I averaged 43-47MPG. Now that I have 12,000 miles on the clock I am usually in the 50-55MPG range. Makes the "puny" 5.2 gallon tank on my non-adventure R1200GS last a long time. I can not imagine 8.7 gallons!

Those things are awesome. Ridden the regular GS, but not the Adventure. Good deal!

Nope. Had to let them both go in order to afford this one.

Having just been in your neck of the wood, I can see why you'd want a bike with allot of range. You rarely want to stop. Nice!

Did you trade them in? If so, maybe someone might be interested in picking up a used one. Black S, right?

Right. It has the Ohlins and a full Remus Race system. Also got the clip on risers.

The ST had a set of Wilbers and also a full Remus.

Both are at A&S.
