Windscreen for the R1200S ?

Anyone able to find an aftermarket windscreen ? I have a few scratches on mine already, would like to find a dark replacement.

That is an option, but was hoping that there is an aftermarket piece out there. Came up with nothing on a google search.

That's kinda what I did in the above photo, (yellow) only I shot the inside of the screen with a "semi-flat" giving it a mat finish on the inside and a gloss look on the outside.

I've thought about that, but I may spring for the black seat instead. I'd been waiting for a Corbin or other aftermarket offering.

I painted the inside of the windscreen on my Futura to get the black tint look. You can buy spray paint made specifically for plastics but I used a Krylon satin black engine enamel which I've found to be very durable. You need to clean & scuff the surface well for good adhesion but other then that there is no special prep. It's satin black on the inside but the outside has a mirror black look.

1) ...thanx CK ; after every ride I clean and (spray)wax it. And it never comes out in the rain, or in some kind of desert...

Roloo, I used Krylon "semi-flat".

Actually, you don't have to scuff the inside surface before painting. Clean the screen well with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Mask off the outside of the screen trying not to touch the surface you are about to paint.

The trick is to just "dust" the surface with the first few coats allowing the paint to dry about 3-5 minutes between coats (The light dusting adheres well and gives you a rougher surface for future coats) After this I patiently apply light coats (still 3-5 minutes between) until I am happy with the coverage. After that I knock down any imperfections with a ruff cloth and then apply one last coat. I've done a few screens this way, it always looks great and I've never had a problem with the paint coming off.

For smooth coverage, always turn your can upside down and clear the nozzle between coats. In the end it will leave you with a can that has more paint than air pressure but it's worth the finished product.
