Semi Sytnh 20/50

Hello All,
This is almost as bad as a tyre thread but have to ask. I am ready to change my oil at 12K and would like to use Maximas 20/50 semi synthetic. I think it is safe to say the motor is broken in as I taught it to run before it could walk, question is I have heard the boxer moter wants 15/50. That should stir up a can of worms. Thank you.

yes, semi-synth is fine, mine likes semi-synth better than anything else. with 12k on the bike, its fine timing.

Thank you, I thought it would be fine but I could have sworn I heard that the boxer does not like 20/50. I will change it this weekend.

wow never heard that...20W50 is spot on. i always say, if it is hot or cold enough to ride, then 20W50 will do. if its too cold to ride, well the bike wont get started anyways. same with too hot to ride, i think that only happens on Mars.

based on your handle, you have a tuono?

Never heard the boxer doesn't like 20W/50. It's the recommended viscosity. I wouldn't put any synthetic or blend unless it's done burning oil, if it still is.
