CO. T.O.R ????How much stuff should I bring???
Starting to gather up my "stuff" for a trip to CO. for the Top of The Rockies Rally, in July... Most of the rallies I attend are nearby so I wear my clothes, bring a change of shorts and socks, and a fresh Tee shirt, A tent, a bag, and a Thermo-rest... Ride there, and ride home.
T.O.R. will be much larger than any of the rallies I have attended. R111S, and I will be riding together and camping at the rally site. Should I bring my camp stove and cooking utensils? Or will there be plenty of food vendors on site? What will the temperatures range from? Mesh tex First gear with liners?? Leathers and my Gerbing vest? or should I consider my First gear Voyager suit.. ( it can be very uncomfortable if it gets hot out) Any new gadgets I should consider? Light sticks, twine, and beer bottles, for decoration around the tent at night??? After all it is always good to buy new stuff. Doing a test pack tonight for a ride up to the Mo. Rally tommorrow.

Wow, too vbad I will miss this one this year. Mesh gear with liners, temp range 55 to 90 in Paonia the last few years. You probably wont need the Gerbing. Long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt/fleece, 1 extra jeans, some shorts plenty of t-shirts, socks underwear. Prolly no stove, plenty of food vendors as well as restaurants in walking distance. Iguess I"ll see you at Missouri rally tomorrow PM!!!

I've been going since 1998..
I've seen fire and I've seen rain... Once, non stop rain, Another, 103 degrees (felt like anyway) Best to look at weather.com up to and as close as possible to leaving. Call me beforehand if you want and I might know better weather. Guess they won't be running out of Miller's this year! ![]() Plenty of food there too, although the restaurants in Paonia aren't much these days unless something new has sprung up. Hamburgers, hotdogs, bratwursts, BBQ guy in a wagon, Mexican stuff, beer tent, Paonia High School groups selling things to eat, grocery store within walking distance or a City Market Grocery Store 10 miles down the road in Hotchkiss

I have been twice and hope to attend again soon, but not this year. It is very well organized. I always carry my coffee set-up to make my own in the morning because I like it just so. I would carry a long underwear top just in case. Sometimes it can be a little cool on those early morning rides that high up. The food there has been very good the two times I have attended. Don't leave the area without doing the Delores River canyon road...143? Some of the best riding anywhere in the world in Colorada and Utah. You are going to have a wonderful time.

By the way, last year they had wireless and wired computer access available if you bring a small laptop. If you feel it's necessary.
