OT - Lake Tahoe fire....
...I hope Steve is OK and not affected by this... and I feel for that people who are!
Another vicious fire is ravaging through a California community...

It's on the opposite side of the lake from me, knocking on the door of South Lake Tahoe. Yesterday had gusty winds, which blew it right into city limits. Last I heard the winds were supposed to shift away from the town, but also it's 0% contained.

...you may want to call Shelly, as I believe she has planned to come up 89 through SLT... don't know what the traffic impact is down there, but it may turn into a nightmare for her!?

Yeah, I already left her a message. I had heard part of Hwy 50 was closed. I suggested she go north on 88, then west on 207 to the Kingsbury Grade to Hwy 50 well east of the fire.

...good thing... anyway, I am glad that you are not affected by this landmark of human stupidity and I hope for the sake of the people that ARE affedted that natur and the firefighters will make sure it's going to be contained soon!

Hey there. Luckily, Caylee and I stopped for lunch in Markleeville and learned of the fire. Since we left on Sunday, we hadn't seen any news about it. So, a different route, but still nice. Very smoky...even in the Carson City area. Thanks for thinkin' of me though! Monitor Pass was great, as was 120 thru Yosemite....never driven that before. The car and all occupants are safe and sound.
