Off To Mount Desert Island Tomorrow. Any sport riding roads around that area??
Well fellow S brothers, it is off to Mount Desert Island and a stay in the Southwest Harbor area, for my wife, youngest son, and I. Hope to see some S bikes running around the Island. Hope to search out some roads that I have not been on in a while and come up with some good sport riding roads in that part of the state. I love Maine, the people, the food, the air, shore, woods, and all but I have never thought of it as much of a place to sport ride in. Very little run off on most of the back roads, narrow pavement, lots of animals and sightseers.
Hope to trace down a few roads within a 150 mile radius of MDI however. I have been on some and plan to see if I can put a nice circuit run together which can be run safely and quickly if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated Hope to see any Pelican brothers in the area. |

Well CK, you have not lost much..............the roads in Middle Maine do not even remotely compare to those in your area. Still.......beautiful woods, quiet moods, great for writing and drawing, nice people.
We will be up for two weeks or so. Just thought some of the S brothers in Maine might could help on some little known sport roads where things can open up a bit. |

Lance does know the roads........but not necessarily the "sport roads" as such. Many wonderful tranquil roads or slow mystic reflection.......but areas of safe speed and corning practice are a bit rare in the area.......unless you know the layout really good. I always see Lance at the Gallery and drink at least 3 cups of his endless coffee. What a quality craftsman and avid BMW rider.
