EZ if I recall correctly you were advocating we all hold out out because "something better was in the works" so you went and bought a Rapid Bike? What gives?

It's been listed on Rapid Bike Italy's site for over a year and a half I believe, just no one wanted to be the first stateside. The cold start issue should be a plus and being able to set what throttle positions to map should be a plus, but peak performance wise I'd like to see a dyno back to back with your old PC and new rapid bike. Really need to have that Rapid bike module custom mapped for your 1150 setup, I'd bet there is some left on the table. We will be doing a RapidBike III module custom mapped from scratch (the right way to do it) in the next couple weeks, I'm sure we could get ya tweaked that much better then a standardized map. Too bad the Rapid Bike I for the R1100S is only capable of fuel/injection and not ignition/RPM as the RBIII is for the R12's

I have had the bike on the dyno with the power commander many times, I will have it on the dyno with the Rapidbike box soon! Will post both dyno Map charts, Power Commander vs Rapid bike Box.
I had one of the first Power Commanders for the R1100S it was a modified Triumph
power commander from Chris at San Jose BMW ! It worked OK but I Think this is
a better system.

BMW Roundel Ok Now....

Greetings E-Z,

Thanks for your report.

The R1100S RapidBike #1 has been available for many years and has proven to be a well respected "Tuners Tool". We have been distributing them for it's parent company DimSport for a few years now.

To avoid any misunderstanding with E-Z's R1150S......we did not just send a shipping R1100S RapidBike #1 Module....He has special requirements with the many mods on his bike.

E-Z has a special RB#1 Module (Specifically Coded Firmware)and a custom made wire harness. This was never available until we created it two weeks ago to suit his requirements. This is not a standardized map whatsoever.

Thus the New in his report!

BTW, give E-Z some credit he installed it in a garage @104 degrees..... I even called him to see if he was still alive....and reached his voice mail.....Glad you are still flowing E-Z. Stay Cool

We took the challange and it was a success.

Same dyno and operator for the before and after? I'd like to see you run on the dyno we use since you're in our neck of the woods now because my numbers aren't that far off of yours with stock 1100cc pistons, stock head and BBPower chip being the only difference. Would be nice to see the incremental gain for your high compression 1150's. If you do try to dyno locally we have a good recommendation for you as the others in the area are not anywhere near as BMW savvy. Either way we always make it a priority to dyno any new mods asap because the exhaust gas analyzer is a very good level of assurance that you're butt is properly calibrated.

EZ rider ... I take it from your post that you acquired your 1150S from SJBMW and then started modifying from there? I have one of the few 1150S from SJBMW, with that original Power commander and the Remus exhaust. Good setup, but you really have me thinking about cams and port/polish!

EZ, what made you go for the new cylinders rather than just get the HC pistons? The difference is only 45cc. Do you feel the cost warranted the benefit? I am considering the same thing myself, but might just do the pistons.

Hey;

I went with the 1150 cylinders and 12:1 pistons, It gave me 12 more hp in the mid range and few more up top! If you asked me if it was worth it !
yes and would I do it again the answer is yes increased the fun factor by 50%

EZ, can you give a summary of all engines mods you have made and the impact on perfromance. I know you went with a modified Rapid Bike, did you go to a tuning center? If not where did the map come from. I am considering a Rapid Bike as well because I may want to do some more mods to my engine.
