very OT : but I have a Corvette question

...and it supposed to be a Targa (or how do you guys call it) version...
...but how on earth can we remove the roof...
...is there a hidding thingie to release the darn thing ????

...thanx !!

I had a 1970 T-top that had two roof panels. You released from a lever under the sun visor and by each window. Don't know about a newer one, but it has to be "right there". Is there an owners manual with it?

tm1100s 09-14-2007 05:24 AM

The release IS under the visor, but you may need a tool to un-latch it on that model.

RoLoo 09-14-2007 05:26 AM

...nope ; not an owners manual on board anymore...

...and no levers (or they hide them)...

...THANX !!
...and indeed ; I found a little hole under the visor !

...and the roof is off !

...the only thing we need to do now, is to sell the thing...
...not very easy over here...

VetteRacer 09-14-2007 03:24 PM

RoLoo, too late to help with the removal...
I thought the Corvette was a big seller in most overseas markets? I have always been told to bring a mustang, F-Body, or Corvette with me if I was assigned overseas because you can do well $ wise with them.
If you have any questions about the car email me, schillerm@gmail.com I know quite a bit about them, have an 87, folks had 88 and 96, and have been around and worked on many more C4 Corvettes..

Thanx Matt !

…and ‘no’ ; such a Corvette isn’t a big seller over here…
…most people in Holland associate such a Corvette as a typical pimp car…

That makes me want one even more....:p Nice Vette Ron, my cousin in California has a similar one.

RoLoo 09-16-2007 10:35 PM

...the one we have in the shop is forester-green-metallic...
...with a beige leather interior...

...great engine sound ; but frankly that's it...
...if you're sitting between Audi's, Porsches, etc. all day, such a Vette is a bit of a disepointment...

throttlemeister 09-16-2007 11:46 PM

And what's it supposed to cost?

RoLoo 09-17-2007 12:37 AM

...13.500 Euros...
...BTW ; it has 6-speed manual gearbox...

...shall I already fill in the paperwork for you Gijs ? :)

throttlemeister 09-17-2007 01:03 AM

I don't think so. If I wanted (ok, could afford) a gasguzzler like that in Holland, it would be cheaper to buy one in the US and ship it over myself. More work, but definately cheaper. :)
