Spotted this cool R1200S/GS/R project
Spotted this way cool project on a German site. 205kg with 22litres of fuell, ABS and telelever witch is only 7kg more then a fuelled up Megamoto witch only holds 13litres of fuell no ABS or telelever. I would have gone for a different headlight set up and a less open rear frame but this would probably ad weight and that was the one thing the builder tried to avoid. A very nice build imo.

Because the Cat is still there, Germany must mandate that they stay in place. Losing that would help quite a bit with the fight against weight.
Very nice (except for the odd looking front end treatment.)

Indeed cat needs to be there to be completely Tuv aproved for German roads and they do have to come in every one or two years to see if every thing on the bike is compliant with the Tuv norm(also police is very strict in Germany on the roads). Without the cat the weight would probably be close to the 200kg mark.

It looks like it has a telelever front end to me, or is that just the steering damper?

cat converters really are not that heavy anymore. in fact, on the R1100S stock exhaust system, the cans were way heavier than the converter. heat, not thats something it has a lot of.

I wonder when van Harten is doing something with the R1200R Ron, as I've seen enough special GS's by now ;-). The rear frame on the special in the picture is also made with Dutch help from Nico Bakker by the way.

Removing the passenger pegs and painting the frame parts black would have all you 'too many spaces' guys touching yourselves.
Bar-end left mirror, remove the muffler (with the cat it's quiet enough), and the girls will be all up ons. |

Black frame and passenger pegs removed would deffenitly improve things a lot and save even more weight.
