HID for the R1100S...?

So I am very interested in upgrading to an HID setup for my S...

I did a search of the forums and found several threads relating to this topic, almost all of which were very helpful.

A few questions that I could not find answers to, however, are:

1. The H1 is the low-beam. What is the high beam?

2. Is there anywhere that I can get this set-up that is not from Canada? I only ask because the deal from CQ is great and all, but tack on $35 for shipping and it doesn't seem as appealing....

Thanks all!!

TCL,
the high beam is an H7.
Their used to be a group that had the HID in Texas but that was a few years ago.
I've run HID low and high for 3years. Its one of the best safety items you can put on a bike.
Night riding is 300% better

hope this helps

Love my HID , now my dip gives more light than 2 halogen bulbs on a car. Running dip only, as we don't have many unlit roads here and I can never use high beam.

I bought both the high and low from http://www.cqlight.ca/
Be sure and get the motorcycle kit for each bulb. The balast is smaller.
Both of mine were basically plug and play. The hardest part was figuring out where to mount the balast. I put one on the left and one on the right above the fuse boxes.

jduke is right.
mounting them can be a hassle.
I put them together and bolted them where you hook the horn to the frame near where the al frame that holds the faring to the bike.

Jeff
That aint no moped. Its a scooter,a GS 150 which belongs to the FACE!
One of the best films ever and takes me back to my teenage days.
Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I,ve owned and restored lots and lots of scooters.Always owned lambretta,s though.Had one which would do a geniune 90mph,which was bloody scary on 10 inch wheel barrow tires.Did you know a lambretta was the first 2 wheeled production vehicle use a discs front brake.I have an abundance Wealth of useless knowledge..
Ditto what chris said regarding the HID.I,ve tested them faster than that!
Hope you are good and well

Hi Jeff
The bike is on hold at the present.I have a couple of other twins on the way in the new year, and i,m not talking motorcycles here!
So i,ve been busy getting the house ready for their arrival.I,m in the middle of reconstructing the bathroom which i so happily demolished a couple of weeks ago.
The midland mafia are doing OK.

The cqlights link in the post at the top is for a California company. I think they use the ca domain to get around USA DOT rules or something like that. Good quality (albeit made in China), make sure to get the compact ballast version. And they will mix bulbs for the price of an auto kit. At least they did for me last year.
