The midwest a new MC destination point??
There is a plan to double the number of turns in the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa combined.

Good, that will perhaps lessen our need to borrow Missouri on the weekends

Man it's flat out here!

Seems similar to Autobahn Speedway near Joliet...I can show you plenty of curves off the beaten path in Illinois...I know you don't beleive me...it's no skin off my back.

Ugh! another Alan Wilson course... be prepared for more dangerous pit-out & pit-ins... that's his signature touch!

R11S, you're from Peoria right? Any good roads down your way?

Secondly, my riding group has developed a taste for "Pea Gravel Salad" over the years...this simple fact keeps many riders off these roads. Over time you learn to be very precise with your lines / speeds on these bumpy, hilly, off chamber curved roads...there's lots of drama available at relatively low speeds and in the end it makes you a much better rider when an unfamiliar road dishes out some surprises. We randomly link these roads together to make our Sunday AM rides last for ~50-100 miles of fun before we stop at a small town Momn'Pops for Breakfast. Here's the first set northeast of Peoria in Woodford County: ![]() Here's another area just north of Peoria and west of Chillicothe: ![]() This next area is between Congerville and Eureka: ![]() This area is southwest of Peoria: ![]() This area is up your way (Mt.Carroll/Elizabeth) and it's one of my favorite in the whole state: ![]() There are others but these are the ones we frequent the most. Thanks for asking John.

R11s,
Thanks for your response. I get down your way a couple of times a year and see those roads going off into the hills and figured there must be some good ones. I think I've found all (2?) the good roads up here. I agree about the Elizabeth road, I'm about an hour away from that and ride it as often as I can. John Tallman |
