What was your first motorcycle?

My brother and I were reminiscing the other day, and I was recalling the "formative" motorcycles that were in my life, a 1973 Yamaha RD125 completely stripped, but with electric start still intact was my indoctrination into dirt racing. I did a bit of internet searching and found this gem of a photo, a 1969 Rupp Scrambler, which was my first motorized two-wheeler! I bought one new at the age of 12 with my own money after delivering papers by bicycle for 2 years! That was a sweet moment indeed! Any other trips down memory lane?

Mine was a BSA Gold Star Clubman, followed by a string of BSAs and Triumphs.

1981 Yamaha Maxim XJ550J--air-cooled 4-banger. After moving on to other bikes, I stored it in my father's garage. I started it up & rode it again a few years ago, and the headshake & weak brakes scared the hell out of me. I don't know how I ever made 1,200-mile trips on that thing.

I rode my 1st bike, a 1968 Honda CB350 from Atlanta, GA to Santa Monica, CA in November 1970. My basic outfit was a one-piece cotton jumpsuit. Boy was I dumb.

First bike was a mid 60's SHL 175 from Poland. 9 pathetic hp fed through a 3 speed tranny trying to move an over weight Jawa knock off. Down shifts on hills were mandatory! 60+ bikes have passed through the garage since then.

mine was a '76 yamaha 350 special...i wish i had taken a picture of it. i was only 15 yrs old and my mom was so pissed when she found out i got one. legal driving age in NY was 18. i used to sneak it out late nights. coming home i'd kill the engine down the block and wheel it back into the backyard. the path was a grassy incline so it took some real muscle to push it up the path. i'd be sweating and out of breath, but it was always worth it for me...
