OT Shipments from Canada

How long does Canada take to process a shipment to the USA? I'm waiting for a North Face 2man tent that I purchased on ebay that was mailed by the seller on the 6th of January. It has been sitting in MISSISSAUGA, ON since the 7th of January. So much for NAFTA I guess. Maybe I should have asked an illegal alien to bring it accross and mail it in Detroit. lol

last year i bought a center console for a 944 on ebay from canada. took 5 weeks and arrived broken. i think i could have walked there and back faster.

Sitting in Mississauga its probably coming acroos the Peace Bridge. Thats a very busy crossing and it could be caught up in the volume there. Do you have a tracking number?

I believe that all shipment must go through a brokerage service before crossing the border, and they can tie stuff up for some time. A good description in the paperwork helps, if it just said tent, rather than USED tent, they may take time to make sure it is not an exporting business.

I know every time I sent stuff, across, USED was very prominent in the Description.

Yeah, I have the tracking number which can be tracked both in Canada and through USPS. It's a used tent so the business stuff shouldn't be in play. It's still in acceptance according to USPS. Glad I don't need it until May.

i think you should use the Harry Tief method of transaction reconciliation and immediately trash out the seller, and file a claim with Paypal for non-receipt of goods. Then begin an email flame program to make sure no satisfactory resolution can be found.

This is the best way to deal with Can-AM shipments!

I can see going through the customs hassle for a unique or hard to get part.

But for a North Face tent? How much could you have saved as compared to Campmor or Sierra Trading Post?
