R12S Fastening Points on the Stock Seat
Hi,
I picked up the BMW tailbag from my local dealer this morning and the sales manager mentioned how great the bag is because there are several ways to mount it, including to the built-in tabs on the seat bottom- built-in tabs!? Am I the only one who missed this - there are 4 rugged tabs on the seat that accommodate bungee cords (or whatever)- I'd seen this on a Triumph before but this was a very pleasant surprise- the back two are tucked into pockets, the front two are actually underneath the strap that runs along the front of the seat. Once you pull these out you can attach cables without removing the seat again. genius! m |

Discovered mine on accident. Thought I had a special one-off seat...

So true. After owning Audi's and now an S60R, I've enjoyed discovering these kind of things constantly along the way. It's always nice to own something for years and still come to realize something new. Kind of like getting a new mod for free! (I take my kicks where I can get 'em)
Although my plans to put my "rare" seat on E-bay for $3,000 have been thoroughly squashed now.

I read that thing like porn (actually pretty close to the truth- never finish it, have to go see the bike in the flesh.) there isn't anything about that seat! (although I thought I saw a page about a wrench-holding slot under the seat and now I can't find that page...
