4 BMW's in the 2008 Daytona 200

Folks, we're talking history here.
Some local BMW riders are planning on being there in numbers (BMW numbers anyway). We're going to be in the stands at the west end of the International Horseshoe.
One of the guys knows some of the promotional people with the Speedway and said if we have a banner, we would have a great chance of getting it on television.
The banner needs to be about 3 foot by 12 to 15 foot.
Suggestions for verbiage on sign??

You have to put a "Go N8" on it somewhere

When is it Jerry and where will you stay and.....so many questions, such a limited mind I have.
Agree with both suggestions above.

Looks like there will be two American riders, Nate and Brian Pariott plus two European ones. As of this writing, looks like AG has changed their mind as the entries will be all BMW rather than a San Jose plus some other plus several AG entries. I know of at least one dealer that is PO'd big time at the change in direction. It is not easy to make plans for months Re, traveling cross country with all that entails and then apparently having the rug pulled out from under you at the last minute.

Hope I don't get in rouble for posting this, but I am also PO'd about these turn of events.

So this would be:
2:00pm Race AMA Formula Xtreme 67th Daytona 200 (69 Laps) ?

I'm pitting for a friend who's racing speed boats in Jesup, GA that week, but I might be able to break away to see this race. Thanks.

Guess AG would rather chance losing to the Japanese brands than risk having SJBMW or BMW MC's of Atlanta kick their butt at Daytona.

I belive that just might be the case. It became quiet clear at the recent past tire testing at Daytona that Chris clearly was able to set up the bikes much better than the techs sent over from Germany, also Chris helped over the phone to improve the handling of Brians bike at the Bol De Ore (Sp). I belive this rivalry goes back to the Daytona Boxer Cup win, the bike Chris started with and consequently went on for the win with Brian as the pilot.

Dean, what about the rest of the Formula Extreme schedule. Is SJBMW going to field their own team? Is AG going to compete in any of them?

Probably just shows my ignorance, but.... can't San Jose or BMW ATL. still field their own team? Or are Brian and Nate commited to AG. I take it this is a ride for us or lose your ride deal?

They can in fact field their own team........providing they have the bikes to race, the formula extreme bikes are somewhat different than the R1200S HP 2 Sport.

?QUE es AG?

If we're talking factory team, we should be glad that they are finally showing te BMW race flag. The full force of the factory is needed to compete against the reigning kings of the hill. This is my humble opinion.

How many RPMs will a Japanese factory 600-cc four cylinder need to turn to match the peak torque of a factory prepared formula extreme BMW HP2 S at the upcoming Daytona 200.

24,500......27,000........29,250? Curious.
