Finally, got her + mini report 2008 R1200GS

Finally, today I have picked up my very first 2008 BMW R1200GS.

Impression: as powerful as the R1200S (I installed a rapidbike and K&N), very responsive to the throttle. Great handling, suspension is very stiff, just as I like it. Did some off road, a few dirt roads, can't say too much about that yet. Freeway doing 140kmh very comfortably, very quite too, due to the great windshield. I'm already in love!

Very nice Rob!
I don't recall my hand protectors being two-tone and as large. Like yours very much.
Also like the silver piece, below the headlight, nice touch. Is that stock?
Congrats!

Already discovered some tracks too hey? I guess now you can ride along, spot a dusty old dirt road/track and think "I wonder where that goes" and go off for a look! Lucky bugger!

Congrats!

Accessories list would be nice (what you have + what you want) if and when you get a chance.

Well. technically speaking I was indeed off the road. About 1 meter or so?
But I did find some nice unpaved farm roads, marked them all in my GPS so I can come back when I'm better used to the handling (which is entirely not like I'm used to on a race track!)

The valve guards are a GS/GSA accessory as are the crash bars.

Are you going to make it to the Colorado or Wyoming rallies, Ralf? Even the HP2?

...no, not the HP2... and, as I mentioned in another thread... it's unlikely that I will make it to Wyoming, but the TOR is not to far out of the way (1600 miles, one way)... we'll see!
