I know a guy who knew Ola; I think he designed also the HP2 Sport and he knows a lot about the technical stuff also (apparantly he told the engineers some stuff which in the end worked better as their proposal...)

Yep he designed the HP2 Sport: "The bikes even look similar, thanks to sharp styling by young Swedish designer Ola Stenegard (one of David Robb's protgs),"
http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/firstrides/122_0803_2008_bmw_hp2_sport/index.html
also the guy designed choppers, customs, etc. so making a sportsbike is something different!

Cool thanks.

The cylinder head from the side pictures sits really far back, I wonder why the large shroud over the front side panels?

Unlike some (super) bikes these days this one does look good in pictures. A lot of cues from the Japanese as expected. Gull swingarm from the latest CBR and ZX10R, split tank from the R1, indicating a possible plastic tank cover, Looks short, not as short as the CBR looks but then the wheelbase of the ZX10R is shorter than the CBR despite the CBR looking smaller.

All in all, I'm sold. I love it. Keep them coming please.

Yes a lot of design cues...but look at the sketch: it say 2006...so 3 years old already and at that time they didn't know the new CBR, etc. Does it look like the fuel tank is sticking out underneath the seat? And like you say the cylinder head seems very upright. From the front it looks very small, as small (in width) as the MV Augusta and knowing BMW aerodynamics will be very good...

Could be the battery tray. I'm surprised the underslung exhaust was ditched.

you may be ahead of your time, Hugo... but let me remind you that it is 2008!

If anyone still wonders if this thing will be affordable: if they make the street version like this, forget it. That's a $13,000 front fork in there. Ohlins TTX20 race forks.
