OT; national Peace Officers Day. A moment of silence.
I'm a loudmouthy smartazz little frog. I do my share of bitzhing about The heat. I've been hassled for no reason before and didn't like it one bit.
Regardless, on THIS day, let us all bow our heads and pay a moment of tribute to all the decent men, women and canines of Law Enforcement out there that have paid the ultimate price for being in a very unforgiving, thankless profession. For you who respond at 3AM in the driving rain to save a drunk that spits on you. For you who respond to a burglary in progress only to be met with automatic weapons fire and still rush towards the sounds of death to save a citizen. For you who try to save a dying baby after it's hopeless and still don't give up. For you who settle a domestic violence incident peacefully only to be cursed at by both parties afterward. For you who are put in a situation unimagineable to joe average every single day and still don't go around the bend even though you have a perfect right to...and still get back up and try to save a crumbling dying society. Thank You.

Not a lot of responses here...but definite Amen on this one.
I've been thru P.O.S.T. (1981) and also seen some of the garbage LEO's have to deal with...not fun and most of them deserve all the recognition we can give. BJ |
