Impressive

I am very impressed and surprised that there were no Honda's in the top 5. Man the HP crowd should be all smiles as we all should be but for 25 large they get to crow a little about more than the beautiful carbon and bling. I love it a air and oil cooled machine not only competing but being a real threat to unseat the big 3 errr.... 4, whatever.

World Super Bike is going to be exciting.....

Congratulations to Team BMW Motorad and BMW riders everywhere, cheers....

In the brief write-up they never mention the BMW though. Hard to get respect when you continue to surprise Maybe RRW thinks the BMW is just another fluke and will go away and they can continue with their yamasukiwhatever rant?

I don't by the rant angle at all.
BMW gets coverage disproportionately LARGE compared to the number of them actually being raced. I've seen them in a number of articles, and even a cover blurb, in the last 2 years.
A single cover blurb a year is nearly 10% of all covers. What is the percentage of race bikes that are BMW??? I don't know, but it has to be very very much below 1%.

I've seen Nate and his BMW mentioned numerous times. Don't get me wrong, I like that, and I too wish it were even more, but based on the market, even on the street market, much less the racer market, BMW gets far more coverage than they merit. That implies good and cheap advertising for BMW. Good for them.

Fair enough, but in many many races, the top 3 are all that get mentioned, so while it might be disappointing to the fan base, it's actually about par for the course. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm on your side on this one. I just think that a magazine giving 90% of their coverage to about 95% of the market is hardly a rant (though maybe boring and monotone)

Well I think I used the wrong word. Rant isn't it. It wasn't a rant as I think about it. Just mediocre reportage where-in a Ducatis tranny receives higher billing than a top five finish.

high hopes for S1000RR

It will be interesting if BMW can compete and win in World Superbike and will they enter this bike into the endurance races?

Out of selfishness of wanting a more substantial dealer network and making sure BMW is there for future purchases, I wish them the best.

Both our ducatistas.com 999R and 848 had problems.. the 848 suffered similar engine failure to the 1098s last year.

Congrats to Suzuki Team Catala and Mr. Oliver especially!!

I'm very pleased with the 5th place finish. Hopefully BMW will continue to field fresh bikes in the endurance races.

Thumbs up

BMW can be proud. The only 2 cylinder that can run with the jap-fours...
...except for Ducati you can claim the same in WSB.
But then those races are less than 200 miles...
The HP-S also won the long distance race in Oschersleben and beat the new KTM RC8!

It's from a press release issued by Suzuki Catalá. RRW had nothing to do with the content of the article in question. You might want to take a look at this link...
