Russ Collins injectors

Well friends,

I'm trying to find a pair of R12S "compatible" injectors in RC site (http://www.rceng.com/) but either I'm a bit dumb (possible) or the site is a bit chaotic (ditto).

Anyone?

PS: I know this ( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-r1100s-r1200s-tech-forum/404124-russ-collins-injectors.html?highlight=russ+collins ) but appears related with the R11S or not?

what do you expect these to do for the bike?

Peter: Go to the Russ Collins Engineering website again, and hit the "Contact Us" tab to send them an e-mail. These guys are very helpful. Tell them about any mods, if any, and what injectors they recommend (saturated, not peak-and-hold which requires a control unit). If your throttle body is similar to the R1100S, the only extra thing you'll need are longer bolts and half-inch spacers to mount the injectors since the Collins are a little longer than the stock ones. I got them at Home Depot for about $2, and will be glad to send you what you need at no charge.

Also, do a "Russ Collins injectors" search on the forum, as I have made several posts with pictures regarding the Collins injectors. There's one recently about how clean my plugs are running after several thousand miles. For me, the Collins are some of the best money I've spent on my bike.

1. The thing still runs extra lean (RB3 or not).

2. The right injector on my bike gives strong signs that...well...you know...(BMW quality et all)

3. See this (old but good) > http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/blackhole/bmwr1100exhausts.html

Mille Grazie (especially for the spacers),

I'll contact them ASAP (I'm trying to find the exact type/maker/etc of the OEM thing in order to facilitate things).

Question > are these things "multis"? (as opposed to single nozzle OEM)

phoenixtexoma 07-27-2008 01:24 PM

Peter: The OEM injector on my R1100S has 4 holes. On the Collins injectors, it looks like a dual nozzle setup, but I'm not positive. The Collins people will be happy to explain how their system works and direct you to exactly what you need. They were very helpful to me.
