Bike protection for trackdays..?

I would like to start doing a few trackdays and wondered if there was anyone who uses a spare set of plastics, sliders, tank, ect... I know for conventional sportbikes there are companys like "Hot Bodies" but I can't find anything for my R11S. I don't plan on crashing but then again, who does.

Please don't turn this into a rider protection thread, there are plenty of those already.

I leave the saddle bag mounts on, does that count??

Just keep the collision on it, as as long as it is not a race insurance is in effect on most policies.

I have a set of rear plastics (along the seat) and a center fairing for the front... I used to take the light assembly out for the track... don't need either anymore... they are blue, slightly scratched (they are for the track, after all...) and they are yours for a reasonable offer

Thx for the offer Signet, I may hit you up for that later (if you still got the goods by then). I am not ready for track stuff yet as my company has started layoffs and I am watching my flo. I'm thinking spring may be a good time for fun-buck$ to start flying out the window .

I am curious if there are "sliders" available? Do most of you just keep extra plastic around? Taking out the headlight sounds like a good idea.

take off the parts you don't want to break.
the bike runs just fine without most of the tupperware, so you can remove both of those giant side panels, and the two rear panels, leaving you with only the center strip on the fuel tank and the bikini fairing around the headlight.
slap on the saddlebaq mounting brackets and passenger peg brackets and you're good to go.

those cylinder head covers work as pretty handy sliders, and there's already bar-ends in the grips.
if you leave the headlight/taillights on, you'll have to cover them up. remove the bulbs beforehand, so they don't contribute to melting the glue from the tape onto the plastic lense (can be hard to get off).

last tip, almost forgot:....don't fall down, but if you insist, try to do it in the kitty litter.
