He is not worthy
Brad, can you use your powers as a Super-Duper purveyor of letters from the Moto-Magazine word factory, get this guys press pass pulled???
This picture is from a Major Moto rag, and belongs, I believe, to one of the regular columnists. Check out the rear Metzeler Z6, I have seem choppers with 10' forks with tires less squared off than this!!! ![]()

Square AND a Metzeler. If his pressure is low too, that'd be 3 strikes.

i wonder how long of a burnout you have to do to get it that flat.
that guy's portfolio has lots of other similar post burnout shots of flat-topped tires. obviously been watching "super bikes" too much and doesn't know that those guys go through a free tire per stunt show. could you imagine taking a test bike back like that? you might not get out alive.

Something doesn't look right to me in the photo. Are you guys sure that's the tire from the motorcycle? Not defending anyone by the way...

If you think the tire looks bad, you should read the crap he writes.

sort of looks like a second tire leaning against the rear wheel. the angle is odd.
nothing else makes sense to me.

That tire shot looks almost exactly like the shape of the Metzler on the back of the '04 S I bought from a fella in Louisville Kentucky last April. He sold me the S for a decent price because he couldn't afford two bikes any more...can you guess what the other bike in his garage was??? I think it Hardly Ever Runs.
![]() And yes, both tires were underinflated at the time of delivery...25 front, 28 rear, no wonder I had to replace the back tire on the way home to Washington State.... Cheers! BJ |

There is something funny going on. A tire doesn't have enough meat in the center to square off to the angle you can see in the picture.

The current issue of Motorcyclist, Feb 2009.
Kind of surprised the sticker on the tail of that R1200S made it to print too.

I need to take another look at that issue, then. a couple good friends of mine are in that issue- the "ThunderDuc" is owned by my good friend Chris Gorel- I've had the pleasure of watching him build that bike over the past couple years. the pictures don't do it justice; for a race bike, it's seriously tight. My friend Johnny LaConte was featured in the Shadow Video Productions piece- I've known those guys for a number of years and have actually work for Shadow Video out here for a couple seasons.

I just got home and parsed through the magazine and found the picture, whereupon I realized why I'd passed it over previously. Jack Lewis. His writing makes my head hurt; I feel dizzy and sick just thinking about it. I'd call JL a hack, but that would be an insult to guys who don't write very well. His lame attempts at copying the style of Hunter S Thompson are beyond terrible. How is it that this guy has a job in journalism?

The bar is pretty low for moto-journalism. Few know how to write, and few know what they're writing about to begin with, at list vis-a-vis the tech articles. Precious few are good at both.
HST is pretty overrated in the first place. Someone derivative of him deserves a special place in writer hell.
