I think Corser will do his thing and hit the ground running. It'll be interesting to see how the team work together, it's good that they also have Xaus, he's exciting. I think he will be very valuable to the team also in terms of communicating and feedback for the techs.

Hey, I was born in Albany and later lived in Perth before following my Mrs over to Vic - where in W Oz are ya?

Looks like a very good team really. A fast and experienced 2 time champ who is still hungry, with an exciting new rider. And lets face it, if you want to win a world championship these days, you can't go wrong with an Australian rider.

I live in the hills behind Perth, and born in Perth. Had a few friends from Albany that rode, but haven't seen them for the best part of 20 years.

Seems to me like an appropriately named place to be born.

Well, BMW has certainly stepped up with two upper echelon riders.
I think as high as they could reasonably expect, given that it's tough to lure a top rider to new machinery. BMW must have done SOME sales job and REALLY convinced the guys that they could make a go of it (even if in season 2 instead of the opener)

Sales job!!!! yea right, it's called a big fat cheque book,Corser has gone to BMW for the same reason he went to Petronas,he's a good development rider and just as good at extracting every last cent for his salary.

Corser rocks! I like him as much as I do Bayliss! BMW is going to do some serious kicking next year!

Chris,

I would be looking for top dollar if I was him.

If he can get the bike deveopment moving along for BMW, then worth every cent.

Putting my life and health on the line to race and entertain millions of people worldwide.

Think of the revenues the WSBK people get from running the show.

Pittance really.

Bayliss is the coolest too.

um...bit of 05 then 06 through to about March 07.

I remember seeing one of the first BMW's I actually liked the look of in Darlington on my delivery run, I think it was in Glady's St and I remember Silver and Red checkered paint work on it.

I delivered South Darlington. I loved it and would still be there if I hadn't followed my Victorian missus back to her birthplace, sod it.

Have I delivered your mail?

edit) I also remember two f800s's up there as well, one yella one red

Well according the the German press the bike is fitted with double VANOS:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/technology/technology_guide/articles/vanos_double_vanos.html
meaning lot's of torque but still a high-revving engine...the best of both worlds they say
"The double-Vanos system continuously adjusts the camshaft positions for both the intake and the exhaust valves. This results in significantly higher torque at low engine speeds and more power at higher engine speeds, while also reducing fuel consumption and emissions."
It will be an interesting WSBK next year with the new R1 with the "big-bang" engine, new Aprilia V4 and the new Gixxer...

Corser is a great development rider, he made that Foggy Petronas thing something of a weapon, even if it was 100cc and one cylinder light. Funny, I rarely see any of those on the roads ...
I still think that Xaus has greatness in him, but he needs somewhere to put it. BMW might provide that.
So, Corser and Xaus on BMs, Biaggi on Aprilia, Haga, Fabrizio and Shakey on Dookies, Spies and Sykes on big-bang Yammers, Checa-Kiyo-Rea on Hondas, Maxy K and Fonsi on Suzis plus a full supporting cast. Doesn't sound like any fun at all, does it?
