Very strange tech issue

Some months ago my fork lock ceased working. I wasn't able to rotate the key far enough to enable the lock. I figured I'd just live with it. Around the same time my horn stopped working as well. Fuses and relay checked out fine.

Suddenly my fork lock is working again and the horn as well. Fabulous coincidence? Divine intervention?

Thoughts? Derisive comments?

nah, that's very common and most times, the cause is a perceived neglect.

you see, sometimes your bike gets lonely and pouts. it wants attention. it wants to know just how much you love it.

it makes things stop working. and waits to see what you're going to do.

if you fix it immediately, the bike feels happy and fulfilled.

if you don't fix it right away, it will go through a short period of depression, then in a desperate move of self-preservation, will correct the error on its own.

it's all in the manual, page 98 i believe.

well then she's just being a spoiled brat because I ride her every day. I massage her every night and make sure she's tucked in before I go to sleep.

i sit corrected.
i didn't 'realize you you had the 1100 HMDQ (high maintenance drama queen).

based on the above additional input, might i refer you to page 99, not page 98.
result is the same however.

If that doesn't work, take a look at any wires close to the steering head. It sound like one that goes to the horn might have gotten pinched and wouldn't let the bars move all the way to lock position, and has now moved back out the way.
But Brad might be closer to the truth.....

I was reading the other day that you can open any lock with a fork. Now how a horn fits into this I don't know but there are apparently many mysteries out there like this begging for comprehension.

The plastic part of the switch at the bottom of the key cylinder may have worked its way loose.
