Shannon's Cowl: The Last Leg

it's been a while, but we're getting close to coming full circle.

the plan is to get shannon's cowl to the phoenix area for a gathering on march 21st.

right now rapid dog has it. we're hoping he and sergio can possibly meet near angeles hwy to do a swap.

from there, we're gonna "voluntold" stage1scott to find a weekend (sat) real soon where we can go on a rerun of the malibu-based shannon nunley ride of a few years ago, swap the cowl around and eat at the paradise cafe.

from there we're hoping to get it to san diego, and from there to phoenix, departing on march 20th.

i've heard that there are some guys coming a fair distance for the finale of the cowl's "tour" and they need to apply for time off, so we're setting the "finish date" and working backward.

so...rapid....sergio....scott? somebody else?

let's get this road on the show.

Sure, I can meet Rapid up there. I'm waiting for the snow to clear from the sides of the road as I need to take some photos.

March travel might be difficult for anyone from Colorado or other snow states.

...Good on you Unc Brad, just wished it coulda done the swap whilst I still had the S.
Right now the Crest is in nasty condition, but when we get some fresh SoCal weather I'm ready. What's the timeline for the Shannon Ride?
Keep me posted. I'll try and round up PVR up for this swap, he can cowl the relic on his S.
He's been busy bein' a new daddy.
Pete?

Actually BumbleBeemer, that isn't so surprising. There are a multitude of threads on it now, but the cowl is really a rolling memorial to a former member, Shannon Nunley, who was killed in a motorcycle accident back in March 2005. The idea was for it to be passed from Pelican member to Pelican member with a hand off, signed by the carriers, and thoughts written into a log. Thus criss crossing the nation and parts of Canada, eventually being presented to Shannon's parents and family in Phoenix, which is where he was from.

It looks to be finally arriving home after several years.

...it would be nice if the powers that be combined the journey's threads together into one so that the family could see the progresss...if that's at all possible.

Rapid was on the ride with us when we had breakfast at paradise cove, why doesn't he just bring it there? i am available to put the original shannon malibu ride back together jan 24/25, feb 1-2 or feb 7-8 NOT AVAIL feb 14-15, then ok on sundays feb 22 (sun), march 1 (sun), march 8 (sun), march 15. all join in, what day do you want it? the original ride was on a saturday, but my saturdays are tied up from feb 14th on

Scott,
as far as i've heard R-dog has a problem leaving his homeland until the snow has melted on the crest. But we have a big time issue.
I've talked to brad, if R-dog can't get the package to the coast then hopefully motoyoyo or tony can ride over to get it so the coastal members can ride with it and sign it before it goes to San diego,(and Iraq),and then to AZ.
Brad needs it for a few weeks or more because Sonny want to give it a tour and sign it then get it back to the states. so time is of the essence.

...just so happens the 14 did close, matter o fact I didn't make it home that night from Hell...smartipantses.
I'm good for whatever happens, just thought Pete would like to make part of the run. We can hook up and he can go from there.
Original SoCal thingie was to run it up the Crest for the hand-off anyhow.
Pete can do the Malibu exchange from his crib at whatever date. I'll show for that too ya buttplugs.
Going to Iraq? That will top our MotoGP gig fershure.
