history of 2005 bcr
I have a friend thats looking at a 2005 bcr. Its located at Santa Cruz BMW
If anyone out there knows any history on this bike it would be appreciated Thanks |

Perhaps you're asking about this particular bike at Santa Cruz (which I know nothing about), but if your inquiry is more general....
2005 was the last model of the run of BCR bikes that started with the 2003's. The 2003 had the white/blue paint and sometime in 2004 they did the white/blue/red paint. BMW was trying to move some of the mojo of the boxer cup series to the showroom floor. Major technical differences were the wider rear rim, chin fairing, higher sport suspension, and higher seat. (Except for the cosmetics, most of this stuff was optional on the non-BCRs.) I believe ABS and heated grips come on some but not all. No rails for luggage and no center stands. No engine differences although 2004 was the year the dual-plug started appearing on all R1100's. So mostly you're getting the swank cosmetics and belly pan packaged with the sport-oriented options and no sport-touring options. - Mark |
