Garage
Ilmberger Belly Pan

Has anyone ever seen one of these in person? It looks a little weird in pictures, but I bet it's gorgeous "in the fiber!" $1200 from Shift Tech

It is a high quality, full length cowling. I picked up the big box it shipped in with two fingers it was so light. Very impressed.

Sfarson,

Is the silver on your rear seat cover the gloss finish, or matte?

Nice bike!!

Rob, It's the seat cowling from BMW to match the R1200S tail finish. If I weren't in a hotel room at the moment I'd check to confirm it is the matte finish! Found another image of the cowling. A 2002 wildfire in the background. When the lighting is right the mesh is highlighted well. Can see the clearview lens you asked about.

Hey Bill... You coming to TOR next year?

Thanks for the info. That is a nice picture!! Those guys with the black bikes and candy cane bikes don't know what they are missing.

White Aluminum Metallic is obviously the coolest color.

Ha... wanna test that by parking them next to each other?

The black one looks so fast that people miss it... and the White Aluminum is blending in with the background...

The candy cane makes people look for the barber shop... hence, it creates attention!

Rixter... stock headers with an Akra can. Believe there would be no issues with a full aftermarket system.

Then say "no" so I''ll know it's divinely ordained for me to make it.

Fully planning on being there.

Ouch... that hurt, Rob...

Darn, that was a cheap, low and absolutely un-neccessary blow... glooming despair is what I feel right now... SNIFF!

I am a broken man... crushed... defeated!

...but my bike is still prettier and funnier....

farson, the pan looks good, but I bet it would be stunning if it was painted to match the bike, it kind of gets lost in the black of the engine, but as a silver one would be sensational. (Photoshop anyone?) The BCR belly pans are CF, and they would not look better any other way than painted to match as they are. I do wonder how it might look on my black R12 with all the CF farkles I already have.

shreddr... My thoughts as well. It does blend in somewhat with the black engine. Depending on the light it can be quite visible and I do like the CF look. To highlight it more I placed decals on each side, and went back and forth whether I liked the appearance or not. Here's with the decals. What think? Anyone?

I think it looks good, and you live by some nice roads.

...you've got to follow the lines the bike gives you... your decals are placed at different angles...

I think it'll look better if you slanted them a little... as in the end that is to the rear of the bike raised on the stickers...

...my 2 cents...

IMO your bike's body color is soooo fine that the decals don't work to my eye. Race bikes pull it off due to all typical mixing of colors and wow factor, i.e., racer's suit having the like (sponser advertising).

I'm guessing painted to match the bike perhaps with some pin striping or something breaking it up (like bottom 1/3 black the rest matching the body work. I need visual to be sure.

or maybe large font R1200S running along the belly pan

or a sharks open jaw biting a ducati or sv1000 lol
