Anyone doing track days in TX this year?

I'm hoping to get more track days in this year on my 04. All of my previous events have been at MSR in Cresson. Ran several novice events and expert at my last Texas Track day event (great day but passed quite a bit)

Anyone else running at Cresson this year or recommend some of the other tracks?

Hi,

I generally hit all the Ridesmart (www.ridesmart.info) days at MSRCresson, MSRHouston, TWS, and ECR, for either riding or customer work. Hit all of those same tracks, plus OHR with LSTD (www.lstd.com), though normally just before CMRA race weekends, and a few select others.
Also HHR with elitetrackdays. Haven't done much with Texas Trackdays, as they're new, and so far pretty unprofessional. Just kind of a charlie-foxtrot. Trying to keep an open mind, and will re-eval later in the season.

What kind of laps are you running at MSR?

btw, see the below CMRA page for a list of tracks:

Lots of choices in Texas. Roger basically ran through them.

Of note, Reg Pridmore will be at MSR Houston on April 4 & 5 with his full staff of instructors. Price is good ($350). Best to sign up for Saturday, as Sunday is likely to be pretty full. The employees of Ron Carter Auto Center who have motorcycles will be there on Sunday. Nice boss, eh?

I ran a couple of LSTD events and they were good. Roger, I'll check out for the RideSmart events.

The Reg Pridmore event would be nice but not sure about timing and funds.

I'll have to think about the Pridmore event. A lot of people have recently been screwed (instructors and students alike) by that historically good organization's financial troubles, so I'm not sure about any prepayment. Plus, I'm already going to be riding there for free (and lik4ly making several hundred via suspension tuning) once each in March and April (including this coming weekend) Will have to mull that one over.

Note also that some tracks, such as MSRC, and the north part of our circuit ( Hallett up near Tulsa) run in both directions. And MSRC also has a 2nd shorter circuit, and a combined long circuit that is over 3 miles and 20 turns, for a total of 4 configs at just that one track.
Smaller bikes can also run at the Katy and Denton tracks, and once in a blue moon, bikes will run the infield at TMS. Also forgot Grand Sport Speedway near Houston, and the under construction Liberty facility. TX thus has > 10 large bike tracks and configs and 2-4 small bike tracks, and counting. Not too bad. At the wall at OHR, you can still see the names of various track record holders, like Spies, Hayden, Edwards, Haner, Howard etc etc. A tough crowd.
That's my excuse for being SOOO far off all the lap records anyway. Never had a chance due to high competition and low talent. Just fun for this kid.
