Future replacement for the Oilhead motor?

I guess it's a 2-stroke. Or it's 4-stroke 2-stroke?

Genius!

But that width "little" matter...don't expect it in R12S MKII.

My vote : auto ignition variable volume 2stroke engine (Lotus-Eaton and the likes)

That video is fairly new (or, at least, the posting is, as the oldest comments are less than a year old), but a little bit of googling reveals information as far back as 10 years, if not longer. One website shows a 13 lb, 13 hp engine less than 17 inches wide but almost small enough to stuff inside the "fart can" on a Honda Civic. They anticipate the turbocharged 325 hp version will weigh around 450 lbs.

Sounds like a neat idea!
