Any dealing with M-TEC....

has anyone out there had any dealings with M-TEC in Germany? If so, what your experince good or bad. Ordered some things from them on Saturday, but have heard some stories from others about them since, which made me concerned.

Thumbs up Perfect!

Greetings cml748,

Michael Muhlmann the owner is both a Friend and a Partner of mine.

I have known him for many years. We have had nothing but an excellent relationship!

All who I have sent to him were very pleased.

You can always reach him at Chef@M-Tec.org to discuss your order.

Best!

I ordered the HPE Titanium system from them last April. Realize things take a little longer to come from Germany and, aside from a lot of aggravation, I've received the square root of zip.

I've tried writing them in English and in German, and have had about a 30% success rate in receiving a reply.

On top of that they seem to be making up the story as they go. First they told me the part was on the way. Then they told me oops really the part is on back order from the supplier. Then they told me they were sending the part and charged me again. So now no parts and two charges. When I asked them about it they choose to ignore the fact they had charged me twice and told me they were once again sending the part as the first one got lost somehow.

I finally had American Express get involved. From what I gather they were just as co-operative with them as they were with me. Needless to say Amex was quick to reverse the second charge and the first still sits in dispute.

Absolutely BRUTAL!!!

Deal with these guys at your peril. Better yet just take whatever money you were planning to spend and burn it. In my mind itès the same effect, but at least your hands will be warm for a quarter of a second.

I was ordering from M-Tec twice - Zard muffler and HPE headers. And always there were some problems with communication.

For both orders they screwed up my address, so the pacel was lost. I asked for my parcel tracking number and was able to find my parts.

But I am from Czech Republic, so it is way less complicated than sending to US.

Angry M-TEC a problem

Hello Members,

I am very upset with M-TEC. Really upset.

This he shipped to me as new. I hope I have recourse with my card credit company.

So to add a comment...

M-TEC Beware to the buyer!

M-Tec order nightmare

I have been trying to order from M-Tec since November. M-Tec did respond and sent me to their US distributor. Finally, my parts showed up; lifter cups were dented, snorkel was scratched and badly marked, nicks on cams. The only item that wasnt damaged was the slipper type clutch. The US distributor reported that after 2 months of waiting, getting excuses, etc, that other customer's items were damaged and he sent the entire order back.

I need to get cams, rods, lifter cups, slipper type clutch and pistons. where?

I've ordered parts and apparel from all over the globe. Japan, UK, Europe and the USA.
The best service I have got and always do is from the USA. Most times it only takes 7 days to reach my door using USPS. Some times it has been 5 days, unreal service. I can not say the same for the other countries. Maybe it is a combination of Euro attitude and the mail service that is bad at best.
I'll give you a example from BMW Adelaide SA. They hardly keep any major parts for your bike and always have to get them in. 3 months is the expected time for parts to come from BMW Munich. Thats for any warranty work too!
Shop within your own country guys because it is the best for service.

Try these guys: http://kurtroesner.de/

They seems to know what they are doing when it comes to tuning BMW's.

That's weird. But it can very much vary between countries.

USA is usually 5 to 7 days for me.
UK in contrast is never faster than 2 weeks.
Germany always next day.

Service in my experience is not much different from the three mentioned, but the USA is worst. Germany and UK are very close, with the UK just edging out the Germans I think. As far as my own country, it just sucks in the service department and shipping from Germany is just as fast and typically cheaper.

As fasr as BMW parts, I think you are getting screwed. They are probably saving up orders to get everything in one go. If I need BMW parts, and they are not in stock I have them in my greasy little hands 2 days later. And that includes them being shipped from the factory in Germany.

Your absolutely right, that's what they do. For some guys that have a warranty issue and don't want to part with there own money, there stuck waiting. Myself don't even deal with them anymore. If I need parts I'll source them else where.

Well... M-TEC e-commerce site is a handy source of things (at least in theory) ...

Try to find spin type pro WP shocks (the 4618 for rear + PA, that is) for R12S in the chaotic WP site (I give up).
