New flash map for HP2???

Hi all,
I have the orginal mapping for my hp2 sold in june08.
Since then, as far as i know their has been only one map to flash to our bike.
Is that information correct?

Besides jpalamaro, has anyone else upgraded to the new map?
What were the differences and results?
Did anything besides flashing the map need to be adjusted?

Thanks
jeff

is a flash map something that lists all the locations you can visit while wearing just your raincoat and boots?
or is it a place where women pull up their shirts in exchange for beads?
maybe it's a listing that pinpoints where you can buy flashcubes for older cameras?

wait...you said you want to flash your bike.
man, you HP2s guys REALLY are into that model, aren't ya!
(pleeez, pleez jeff, no pictures!)

Jeff, I flashed many many maps to my HP2S and it didn't blink... not once.

Here's proof... not for the faint of heart.

my mechanic friend says that you did it wrong.
you're supposed to walk up to the bike and then suddenly whip the map open.

I'll try that tomorrow morning since it's awake already. I assume this is done when sleeping, correct? (had to take the geza blanket off her)

Jeff, this is a good question. Is this like an abortion where your bike doesn't have to get parental consent before the procedure is done?

Jeff... are you trying to imply that your issues are caused by improper map flashing?

Jeff, friends don't let friends flash their bike's software without proper hardware when drunk.

On the other hand-can I say that, Roger- you've got me courious enough to call my tech and see just how many of these so called updates are folating around the system and just want they "fix" because my HP ain't got no hickups.

sergio,
i've been told by a reliable source that an ECU is being overnighted to the shop from germany because of the problem. the coils have been installed, fuel pump, and other parts. One of the problems is that the diagnostic computer can't find the bike sometimes and they are having to use a shotgun approach because they can't test the bike.

Sounds very probable that the DME is faulting and taking down the diagnostic bus, which will cause the communication problem.

Does anyone know what modules these bikes have other than the ABS and DME? IS the a Light module or General Module?

as far as i know as of this moment, Im going to LA to ride the bike but it has a lag in 2nd.
BMW won't warrenty any bike that has any modification or removal of any part or so I was told if corporate get involved. the mechanic says its the ECU,(or what ever they call the on board computer these days). I talked to the shop that i usually take my bike to and they have said that they have had 3 updates since my bike rolled of the line and it has some unique problems that they have never heard of before.
next step is to ride the bike and make sure its stock.

Good to know about the 'completely bone stock' warranty issue. I guess I have to wait til the warranty is up in 3 years to start messing wth my own bike!

Greetings Jeff,

Nice people at Hollywood BMW!

From the owner Ms. Robertson , Fernando - Svc Manager to Ryan - Tech.

However:

Their GT-1 Does not read YOUR ECU
They claim it does not read the ECU and that is normal
They claim they can't reflash the ECU
They said that they observed that you did a canisterectomy They think that that is the problem....
They called me nicely for advice but I seem to think that they are blaming you for altering your bike~!

Pick-up bike - Case closed!

New dealer needed to reflash with the upgrades and solve the fueling problem!

Nice people at Hollywood BMW!

whaaa...........
Gotta toss in here.
They're saying a CANNISTERECTOMY is responsible for a huge running change?
Time for a different dealer..that's way too lame.
Software upgrades happen and your friendly dealer needs to deal with it.
Either that or you have a mo'sikkle that's TOO sophisticated to own.
