laser exhaust install
Hello All. I am new to the forum and really like what I see. I have a R1200 ST and a Aprilia Mille currently. The 1200 really surprised me with its usable torque and power, also the handling is very good with wilbers front and rear. Been riding for over 40 yrs so I am no spring chicken but still enjoy wicking it up in the canyons here in San Diego. I am trying to get set up with the maintenance tools and doing most of the work myself on the 1200. My plan eventually is to do what Shredder did with his 1200S but that is down the road
I am installing the full Laser system on my R1200 ST. Can someone advise me as to the best way to break loose the oxygen sensors in the head pipes. And are they a right hand thread? I tried a 12in crescent wrench and they would not budge so I thought it would be better to ask before I break something. Thanks for the help |

Normal left hand threads, use a box wrench if you can get it in, soak it with something like Liquid wrench, let it sit. Then try it again. Don't use a crescent wrench, you need to get enough meat of the wrench on as much of the nut as possible. When reinstalling, put anti-seize on threads prior to installation.

well, everything came apart easily once the proper tools were used. The Laser system is very nicely made but their directions suck. Has anyone on this site used the Laser system on a R1200S or ST or RT? If you have or have one installed please pm me. I have a couple of questions.
Thanks Bob |
